By now everyone is familiar with the term "megapixel". This term is now which is mainly used to distinguish between different digital cameras. Essentially, the number of megapixels is a measure of resolution cameras. "Mega" means "million" and "pixel" is a term that comes from the computer industry (which was first used to describe a resolution of the computer screen) and is derived from the words "image" and "element" (Pix-el). Thus, a 6 megapixel camera comes with a sensor which contains 6 million picture elements.
Any digital camera, you will find on the market today are highly automated with automatic functions to control the exposure and development. The days of cinema are gone and now images are stored on a memory card (Flash memory).
You've probably noticed the huge number of cameras available and the many different types. How can you choose all different megapixels, features, zoom, etc. Here are the 4 most important factors to decide digital camera on which to buy.
1) Megapixels
Try not too caught up in the number of megapixels offered. Even if there are cameras available the average consumer with a maximum of 10 (or more) megapixel, photographer normal and even most professional photographers can be very satisfied even 7 megapixels.
More megapixels does not mean better picture quality. Other factors may be more related to quality image as the lens and other features the camera. More megapixels are only required if you frequently crops and / or enlarge your photos considerably.
2) zoom capability
First, make sure the difference between "optical zoom" and "digital zoom". Optical zoom is actually made with the lens of the camera zoom digital zoom simply the center of the image without actually increasing picture detail. Most of all cameras offer at least 3X optical zoom.

If you tend to get more photos of sports and / or outdoor subjects such as wildlife and nature in general, then you may want to steer more towards the digital SLR (DSLR) cameras.
The DLSR offer more flexibility in the choice of lens and manual features that allow the photographer to manipulate the exposure time and the aperture settings. In addition, digital SLR cameras offers a wide range of ISO settings (think of light) to allow fire in low light situations, then the compact digital camera standard.
4) Brand
Generally most brands offer similar features at similar prices. But some things to keep in mind that are known in the photographic community; Kodak is on the board before offering simplicity and ease of use for the photographer Fujifilm offers image sensors with a technology exclusive give excellent image quality. Canon, Nikon and Olympus offers an amazing range of cameras that would satisfy any type of user.
Deciding on a digital camera can be difficult with all the choices available, but if you can decide on the 4 key criteria outlined here, it should make your decision much easier and more satisfying than you spent your money wisely.
