How to change braids scalextric (contacts)?
Yesterday I bought a car scalextric Aston Martin DB9. I just serve it again today and the car left the track and one of the braids ripped off, leaving a few strands of normal length and a few pieces with very short solvent. I have 3 other cars and change the locks on those you just need to pull the plastic contact plate and all the things out, all to to be changed or just the braids, but with the Aston, you can not remove the braids as there are 2 pieces of plastic obsuring the top of the braid, and you can not remove the contact plate as it is connected to the motor / upper plastic (apparently, I tried to pull and it does not move). Have scalextric changed the design of contacts and, if so, how do I change them (I have braids spare parts and contacts for other system that my car 3 others)
For new cars braids are connected to the plastic disc which is located on each side of the opening housing. To change it you need (of course) a new type (there should be a couple with the car). Then you can drag the small circle on the car along the length of the guide groove until it can be removed at one end and the new features of the but in reverse. Hope that helps.
