Recording drums … Interface need?
I want to register my custom kit yamaha stage by Logic Pro 7 on a new iMac with all Samson 5 piece drum kit microphone with 2 CO3 is general. I currently have a home presonus, but he has not enough entries, so I need to do something. I know I can get something new or get a mixer, but I do not have good acoustics in my studio so I can not no more sacrificing sound quality. What should I do (I'm on a tight budget)?
Basically, I think you're looking at hardware. Sound card (s), mixer, etc. If you can get a map of torque at low prices and adapters, you could go in that direction. Although I'm not sure how Macs are flexible with multiple sound cards. I could run in linux, however I have many sites available for. Something I done is take a sample of each piece of my kit, then use the hydrogen to make a drum track. Generally I did it because playing the drums to two hours while the kids are asleep or during the day when the wife is asleep (but I'm really trying to work on something) is not an option. But I'd certainly make a play live recording running each track on it's own micro Ardour. Although, unfortunately I have not had time to pick up a microphone kit for now. The option of hydrogen take care of the issue of sound quality, but then you're dealing with do not really play the model and the momentum a little pain. Although hydrogen has a function to humanize it is still just not the same. Carvin has a great mixer ideal for home studio use, and that's what I intend to do when I'm there for her. So, if allows output to the computer via FireWire, you can use your input on the sound card for at least two more pickups, maybe three (and a mic input line). This assumes that you could adjust the microphones to the line, which would require some type of preamp or direct box and the separation of left and right channels, once that line level is simply a stereo to two mono adapter. But need to fit two mics to line level entering the combustion chamber too ins online. EDIT: A pawn shop is a place to look for mixers and other musical equipment. Sometimes they decent prices, but it depends on what it is and at least half the time I saw that the prices are close to the cost of buying new ones making music voucher.
