Canon Digital SLR that I expect?

hello! Here I am again. I decided to take a camera nikon canon instead of spout many people said. also, there is a customer service office available for us gun is not like Nikon. Anyway, my problem is now that digital SLRs from Canon (good for beginners) should I buy? Canon 450D and Canon Rebel Xsi is the same thing? Thank you!
